Site and context:
The project is to build new social housing in Taichung Beitun district. The project could house around 220 people and contains 5 different types of housing, studio, single room, double room, accessible room and shared room. Also, the site of the project is located at a good geographical location close to the education institution and park. At the ground floor, people could find shops, a social welfare centre and an infant centre.
Design strategy:
1. 2 Buildings on site - The design offers two buildings for living and connects both buildings by bridging them on the second and fifth floor. Both floors offer spaces for people to do different types of activities, such as gym and library, as well as people could easily reach other spaces by using the staircases on the side of the bridges.
2. Rooms in different shapes - Those rooms are designed into different shapes and sizes. These different types of rooms or flat could easily fit customer's needs and all rooms would include basic functions for people to use in their daily lives.
