Site and context:
Camden Market has its own special quality with multicultural characteristics, and the market is located next to the railway and Morrisons car park. However, there are lots of people in the market complaining that parts of Camden Market are going to be demolished and rebuilt luxury buildings and they are going to be expelled by the planning company. It is a good opportunity to design a space that allows the people to have their own space in the Camden Market without being expelled and keep the special quality of the Camden Market.
Program & users:
The program of the design includes a new space for people to live and work at the same space but with personal privacy at the sametime. People could have a workshop, display and selling point at the same space. Both workshop and display are providing an opportunity for people to enjoy the working process of making when they are passing through shops.
Design strategy:
The suggested way is to combine both living and working space together is by adding light structure in between the buildings without bothering the original route to the other places. Also, adding an extra spaces for more stalls to be placed on the new created platform
